Share
Sita Lyrical, born Vasita Caine, is a dynamic dancehall artist hailing from Fairbaine Pasture, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Raised in a Rastafarian household under the guidance of her father, Ezekiel Morgan, she was immersed in reggae music from an early age. Influenced by legends like Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, her passion for music deepened over time.
Her journey into dancehall began in the 1990s, sparked by the rhythms of Beenie Man. At 16, she realized her aspiration to pursue music during a social studies project where she used Beenie Man’s “Girl’s Prayer” to address unemployment, earning enthusiastic approval from her teacher.
At 19, Sita released her debut single, “Kitchen Dunce,” produced by Dougal Allen. The track challenged women to showcase their culinary skills, quickly making her a household name.
In 2022, Sita made history as the first Vincentian to perform at Sting, Jamaica’s premier dancehall event. Despite initial apprehensions about her accent and style, she delivered a memorable performance, earning the respect of Jamaican audiences.
Recent Success: “Guh Dung” and DJ AG Online Feature
Sita’s momentum continues with the release of her track “Guh Dung,” produced by Bless Music Team. The song has gained popularity across social media platforms, with dancers incorporating it into their routines on TikTok. Notably, Bobby Konders of Hot 97.1 has shown support for the track.
Additionally, Sita’s feature on DJ AG Online has further amplified her presence in the dancehall scene. The platform’s endorsement has introduced her to a broader audience, solidifying her status as a rising star in the genre.
With her unique blend of talent, resilience, and cultural pride, Sita Lyrical continues to make significant strides in the dancehall industry, representing both St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the broader Caribbean community.
